A Word from Colorado Unite Us
Hi Unite Colorado Partners,
March is full of many celebrations and one we’d like to highlight is National Nutrition Month. During the month of March, everyone is invited to learn about making mindful food choices and developing healthful eating and physical activity habits. Sadly, many individuals in Colorado cannot afford and/or do not have access to produce. To help support individuals and families who may struggle with produce purchasing, the Double Up CO program doubles the value of SNAP(formerly food stamps) benefits used at farmers markets and food stores across Colorado, helping people bring home more healthy fruits and vegetables while supporting local farmers.
The Unite Colorado Network has multiple organizations that either provide support to clients to help them complete their SNAP application or provide guidance to clients who qualify for the Double Up CO Program. To find organization in the Network that provide this support indicate in your platforms My Network service type list “SNAP/WIC/Other Nutrition Benefits”.
We are excited to announce our latest national CBO partners: United Through Reading and Every Kid Sports. You can find their information by logging into the Unite Us Platform.
