And what a weekend it is! Passover begins at sundown today, it’s Good Friday for many Christians, and in Islam, Ramadan is underway. This Friday, to all of our community CHOW would like to say: Happy Easter. Eid Kareem. Chag Pesach samech.

CHOW Needs Your Help!

CHOW is looking for bilingual volunteers.

CHOW would love a few bilingual (Spanish/English) volunteers with experience in the restaurant/hospitality industry.  We are trying to create a welcoming space for native Spanish speakers in our On-line Spanish meeting, Tuesdays, 7-8pm.  Volunteers help to welcome attendees and build relationships.  If you’re friendly, please apply using our “Contact CHOW” link https://chowco.org/contact/

Spanish Language Recovery Coach Training Virtual in June

We are thrilled to announce that Embark PCA, CO is hosting a 2nd Fully Spanish speaking peer recovery coach training, by Choices. This has been a long time in the works and is well needed, as you know.
Alex Fidalgo will facilitate the training in both Spanish and English (when necessary). Manuals are available in both as well, however, the idea is to reach the population that learns best in their native language of Espanol.
The training is coming up quickly and begins June 1. Space is limited and the cost is $300 per person.

Fox 21 News: Alcohol Awareness Month 

COLORADO SPRINGS — April is Alcohol Awareness month – a good time to reflect on our drinking habits and what affect they’re having on our lives.

Experts say the effects of alcohol abuse on families is of particular concern.

The National Institutes of Health say that although most adults in the US who drink do so moderately and without complications, alcohol-related problems are the among the most significant public health issues in the country.

Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) affects about 15 million adults in the US, and causes deaths in about 88,000 people each year.
