2022 Rally for RecoverWE

September is National Recovery Month. 

Advocates for Recovery Colorado has held a Rally for RecoverWE every September since 2001. This year it will be Saturday September 17th. Help us make this year the biggest rally yet.

Join us on Sunday April 24th to continue planning the 2022 Rally for RecoverWE. We will be meeting in the back building behind the Denver Metro office

Volunteer with Slow Food Denver

Food Pickup/Delivery for Munroe Elementary

Each week Slow Food Denver holds a virtual Lil’ Sprouts cooking class for the families of Munroe Elementary School.  Our volunteers will grocery shop and deliver the ingredients each Monday morning to Munroe Elementary School for their Monday evening class.  All food costs will be reimbursed by Slow Food Denver.  

  • When: Mondays in April and May, anytime between 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
    • April 25, May 2, May 9, May 16

Note: These families rely on our food delivery each week in order to participate in class!  A grocery list will be emailed to you the week before, giving you all weekend and Monday morning to do the shopping.  

Garden Tending at Civic Center Park
Join Slow Food Denver and Grow Local Colorado for a morning of tending to the gardens at Civic Center Park.  We will be weeding, planting, harvesting and enjoying the Denver morning sun.
All of the produce harvested from these gardens is donated to local food banks and shelters in the Denver area such as Metro Caring, SAME Cafe, and The Gathering Place.  With your help we can donate fresh, organic produce to those in need!Date/ time: Various Monday mornings from 8:15-9:30Sign up: Click here!

Save the Date! HUD/SAMHSA: National Mental Health Awareness Month Webinar Series

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s (HUD) Office of Public and Indian Housing and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) are teaming up to present a series of free webinars this May to celebrate National Mental Health Awareness Month!

The webinars will take place each Wednesday in May and will feature leading mental health and housing professionals from SAMHSA and HUD, as well as practitioners from their respective communities. This collaboration will focus on mental health issues that our nation is facing in the post-pandemic world, plus issues specific to HUD’s communities

We are excited to announce our upcoming Summer Sessions for girls ages 12-17.

Through our various activities, students learn new ways to cope with their emotions, the impact nutrition has on mental health, utilize mind/body connection techniques and experience the outdoors.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
June Session: June 7th-30th
July Session: July 5th-28th
Cost: $1,500 per session
Age Range: 12-17 yrs.
