Sweet Home Café Chef’s Table with R/A Executive Chef Jeff Cortez

During the month of February, the Sweet Home Café will bring families and friends together to celebrate African American history and culture through food and hospitality. Every Friday from 12:00pm – 3:00pm, and extending into the weekends, Sweet Home Café will feature special menu takeovers by select chefs from across the country. These chefs will tell stories from their heritage through the exquisite menus they curate and execute in the Sweet Home Café kitchen.

He later began his executive culinary career at Legal Sea Foods on Long Island, starting as the lead cook and later working his way up to sous chef.

In 2010, Chef Jeff joined Restaurant Associates. Since joining R/A he has worked at Google NYC, ABC, Disney, Ernst & Young, Moody’s Financial, The US Open, CxRA, Warner Bros, and most recently McKinsey & Company where he is the Executive Chef. CAiR Art Show: Showcasing Artists in Recovery

We would love to see you at our “First Friday Art Show” on April 5th! This event celebrates the beautiful creative work of our artists.

These events are our way to paint recovery in a whole new light. Having the ability to show friends, family members, and leaders in our community our creations helps rebuild personal relationships, gives our participants a feeling of personal pride in their recovery, as well as show the greater community the value in supporting recovery efforts. This all contributes to changing the stigma around recovery. We recover out loud.

Up to 14 artists in recovery will be showing their art. Coffee and snacks are provided.

See you there!
