BIPOC Mental Health Month from MHA

Each July, we honor the legacy of author, advocate, and trailblazer Bebe Moore Campbell by recognizing Bebe Moore Campbell National Minority Mental Health Awareness Month.  To celebrate and help support your efforts, MHA is proud to provide the following: 
Mental Health America’s 2024 BIPOC Mental Health Toolkit provides practical resources to help guide your organization’s awareness efforts and help individuals navigate mental health stigma, bridge generational differences, dismantle mental health myths, and encourage meaningful conversations. Get your free toolkitWebinars will be held on July 18 and July 23 on the topics of: bridging generational gaps and healing justice. Free 4th of July BBQ at Yampa River State Park in Hayden!

Our newest RISE Event is here! Join The Health Partnership and Yampa Valley Psychotherapists for a free Sober BBQ at the Yampa River State Park in Hayden, Colorado this 4th of July!  We extend this invitation to anyone interested in supporting themselves and the recovery community. Even if you are “just sober-curious”- we hope that this event gives you an opportunity to meet some new people and enjoy the gorgeous outdoors with us substance free!

The details: 

BBQ BEGINS AT: 11 AM at Yampa River State Park (6185 US-40, Hayden, CO 81639)

Picnic Style! Bring any side, dessert or grilling option your heart desires. The Health Partnership is sponsoring, and will be providing hot dogs, condiments, and mocktail supplies. We encourage carpooling as you will need a parks pass for parking ($10, stop by the visitors center to pick one up). The Health Partnership will also be hosting their famous RISE Event raffle and will have some fun swag! 

Feel free to bring chairs, umbrellas, bug spray, sunscreen, etc.- there are picnic tables and charcoal grills at the park – yard games are encouraged, but they do have cornhole and volleyball there! We also encourage anyone to bring Mocktail ingredients or any other non-alcoholic beverages that you may desire.

Lushus La’Rell’s Birthday Drag Show & CAiR Fundraiser – July 13

Lushus La’Rell’s Birthday Drag Show & CAiR Fundraiser is a one-of-a-kind event that brings together the power of performance art and community to support a worthy cause.

W e are honored to have Lushus La’Rell organize and host this BIrthday Drag Show & CAiR Fundraiser! Lushus has been putting on and performing in Drag Shows for 20 years, and we are so grateful to be selected as the nonprofit beneficiary for this fun event.

Tickets are donation based (any amount is greatly appreciated) and required to attend this event. There will also be more opportunities to donate at the event, including giving dollar bills directly to the performers while they entertain, and at the end of the show. All proceeds will go to Colorado Artist In Recovery, a 501c3 nonprofit organization helping people in recovery reignite their creative spark and find an alternate path to recovery from SUD and mental health challenges.

This event is being generously hosted at Tracks in Denver – an LGBTQ+ welcoming establishment. Please be aware before purchasing a ticket that liquor is served on premises and that this a 21+ event.

This event is a celebration of creativity, diversity, and resilience, and it offers a unique opportunity to have fun while making a positive impact in the lives of those who are in recovery.

The Big Eat 2024 Kickoff Party with EatDenver

We’re celebrating our BIGGEST Big Eat yet with complimentary welcome cocktails, free distillery tours, store discounts, food from Gallo Pinto Latin Roots, live music, and more!
