Food and beverage events look effortless from the outside. For the people working them, it can be hours of nonstop movement, heat, crowds, and pressure. Our solution: the CHOW Green Room Project!
What Is A CHOW Green Room?
A CHOW Green Room CHOW Green Rooms are private, industry-only spaces set up at events so food/beverage/hospitality workers can take a real break.It’s a place to sit down, hydrate, grab coffee or a snack, and reset for a few minutes, without the noise, without the public, and without the expectation to “push through.”CHOW team members, dedicated volunteers, and ambassadors are there too, offering practical support, a listening ear, and connections to resources when someone wants them.
Why We Do This
Food, beverage, and hospitality workers carry a lot, both physically and mentally, and they don’t always get support in real time. Industry professionals also don’t always have time to seek out resources or attend CHOW meetings. That’s why we decided to meet our community where they are at. We build Green Rooms as onsite temporary pop ups, because a small pause and a little care, right in the middle of an event, can make a meaningful difference… one ice cold bottle of water at a time.
In CHOW Green Rooms, You’ll Find:
- Relaxation: Take a moment to unwind and recharge with complimentary refreshments, comfortable seating, and mini massages. Treat yourself to a moment of self-care amidst the hustle and bustle of industry events.
- Sustenance! We will have complimentary coffee from Purple Door, water, snacks, and more.
- Community: Connect with like-minded industry professionals who understand the highs and lows of working in food and beverage. Share experiences, swap stories, and forge meaningful connections in a supportive environment.
- Support: Our team of CHOW ambassadors will be on hand to provide support, resources, and a listening ear. Whether you need assistance navigating industry challenges or simply want to unwind, we’re here for you.
- Resources: Discover valuable resources, including mental health support services, substance use disorder resources, and wellness tools tailored to the unique needs of food and beverage workers.
